Biloxi Regional Medical Center, Biloxi, MS
Performed a comprehensive architectural and structural engineering investigation to determine the extent of damage caused to the exterior window and curtain wall systems on this regional hospital building in Biloxi, MS during the passage of Hurricane Katrina. Work included intrusive examination of representative window systems. A major part of this investigation involved attempting to determine what portion of the water infiltration into the building was caused by wind driven rain, and what part may have been caused by deterioration and lack of maintenance of the window systems over the life of the building. Work was performed as a subconsultant to Madsen, Kneppers & Associates, Inc.
